Speaking Topic city 2 - Da nang city IELTS speaking part 2 sample

  IELTS SPEAKING PART 2 SAMPLES

TOPIC: CITY

SAMPLE 1.      DANANG CITY

The city I'd like to talk about today is none other than Danang, which sits on a long stretch of white sand beach in Central Vietnam.

Danang is an impressive city with numerous renowned landmarks. The Marble Mountains, consisting of five limestone and marble hills, symbolize five different natural elements, while the Cham Museum houses the world's largest collection of Cham relics. My Khe Beach, one of the most famous beaches in the world, attracts an influx of tourists every day. Danang is home to many famous bridges as well; it boasts ten bridges crossing the Han River. The Dragon Bridge is one of these spectacular icons.

Speaking of the inhabitants here, kindness, honesty, and approachability are the hallmarks. Tourists also add that Danang locals are peaceful, hospitable, and enthusiastic. The locals lead tranquil and unhurried lives. Despite the hustle and bustle elsewhere, people here go about their business diligently and quietly. Being gentle and honest is another characteristic; it is the distinctive trademark of Danang’s residents. Tourists visiting Danang are always warmly received, and there is no distinction between them and “local guests."

Having traveled through many regions of Vietnam, I find that Da Nang is truly a city worth living in.

SAMPLE 2.      DANANG CITY

The city I'd like to talk about today is none other than Danang, which sits on a long stretch of white sand beach, right in the middle of Vietnam. It’s also only a 30-minute drive south to Hoi An, Vietnam’s most popular tourist spot. To the north sits the ancient capital, Hue.

By the way, Hoian old town and Hue historical imperial citadel are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, which provide tourists with a glimpse into Vietnam's rich history and culture.

Speaking of Danang, its culture is impressive, with numerous renowned landmarks. The Marble Mountains, consisting of five limestone and marble hills, symbolize five different natural elements, while the Cham Museum houses the world's largest collection of Cham relics. My Khe Beach, one of the most famous beaches in the world, attracts an influx of tourists every day.

The city is also a hub for trade and commerce, with a booming corporate community and a rapidly expanding economy. With a developed infrastructure and skilled workforce, Danang has become more and more attractive to foreign businesses and investors.

The people in the city are also welcoming and hospitable. They are willing to help if you get lost on the way to the inner city, for example.

Speaking Topic city 1 - Hoi An ancient town IELTS speaking part 2 sample

 IELTS SPEAKING PART 2 SAMPLES

TOPIC: CITY

SAMPLE 1.      HOI AN ANCIENT TOWN

The place I'd like to talk about today is none other than Hoi An ancient town, located in Quang Nam, a central region of Vietnam. This destination attracts an influx of tourists to come every year.

It's interesting to know that Hoi An is an ancient sea port with a melting pot of Cham, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, and European influences. It served as a spice trading center, a settling point for Ming Dynasty merchants, and a hub for international trade in the past. The Japanese Bridge, the mark of Japanese culture in Vietnam, is the only covered bridge in the world that houses a Buddhist temple, serving as a spiritual landmark in the Ancient Town.

I was also amazed at the flavor of delectable local delicacies. Cao Lau, for instance, is a really scrumptious dish with a unique texture originated from Chinese noodles. These are topped with pork-belly slices, bean sprouts, fresh herbs, and dry pancake. This is finished off Vietnamese style, with a spoonful of broth, chili, and lime.

I really enjoyed my time in Hoi An ancient town. It was a one-of-a-kind experience, and if I have enough free time, I will gladly have another trip back to this town.

SAMPLE 2.      HOI AN ANCIENT TOWN

Hoi An, an old town in Vietnam's central province of Quang Nam, is the location I'd like to discuss today. Every year, a large number of tourists are drawn to this location.

It's interesting to learn that Hoi An is a historic seaport with influences from the Cham, the Vietnamese, the Chinese, the Japanese, and the Europeans. In the past, it served as a hub for international trade, a spice trading center, and a place for Ming Dynasty merchants to settle. The Japanese Bridge acts as a spiritual landmark in the Ancient Town and is a representation of Japanese culture in Vietnam. It is the only covered bridge in the world to contain a Buddhist temple.

The flavor of the delicious local fare also astounded me. For instance, Cao Lau is a wonderfully tasty dish with a special texture that is made from Chinese noodles. Slices of pork belly, bean sprouts, fresh herbs, and dry pancake are placed on top of them. Vietnamese-style garnishing includes a spoonful of broth, some chile, and lime.

I had a great time exploring the historic town of Hoi An. It was a one-of-a-kind experience, and I would gladly return to this town if I had more free time.
